Whetstone Designs Services
for HOMEOWNERS
Whetstone's primary specialty is developing residential and timber
frame design packages for homeowners who want to invest in the quality
and beauty of a custom home. Our ability to develop complete, custom
construction
drawings of the home of your dreams makes one of the many
home building processes more easy and enjoyable for you. Perhaps you're
looking for a hybrid timber frame building, an exterior add-on or simply
timber trusses. No matter the project, we can deliver.
You may already have a contractor chosen. If this is the case, our building design packages arrive at your contractor ready to build, eliminating head-scratching on site. Through strong partnerships with trusted contractors, Whetstone Designs can also recommend a construction company with a proven history in creating the building you've imagined.
What's the Process?
Once again, each project is different, however homeowners can expect their design process to go as follows:
- Initial meeting and site visit with designer
- Conceptual Drawings
- Revisions
- Sign off Drawings
- Construction Drawings
- Shop or piece drawings
Engineer-stamped plans are becoming more and more common, as more
zoning districts require new construction to be built according to code
standards. Whetstone Designs has developed relationships with engineers and will assure
the plans comply with local codes, are approved by the proper zoning
offices.
What's the Price?
Every timber frame design project is different, however homeowners can use the guidelines below in estimating the prices of services provided by Whetstone Designs. Our prices are competitive, and packages can be negotiated for multiple service contacts.
